Last night I joined a couple of dozen Black River Astronomical Society Members at The Nielsen Observatory to view the upcoming Camelopardalids Meteor Shower. Between the hours of 22:30-Midnight we collectively saw 15 Camelopardalids and 6 Sporadics. After midnight we never saw another meteor, but my camera captured two Camelopardalids and one sporadic between the hours of 2 and 4am. All images in this album shot with a Canon 60Da AstroCamera with a Samyung 8mm fisheye lens.

Solar Ejecta13 viewsI was imaging a filaprom and it detached as I was imaging. Here you can see the plasma being ejected into space.
The Tilting Sun4 viewsI found an app that will look at your lay & long, time of day and date and then calculate the angle of the Sun for the given moment you shot the image. Then you count the pixels of your solar disk and the app will generate an overlay to place on your image illustrating the angle!
Pretty neat, eh?
